Out on the green farmlands of northwest Grand Forks County is a winding ridge that scientists say is a lot like winding ridges on the Red Planet that suggest the presence of water. That’s why Thursday morning, UND space studies graduate student Emily Chwialkowski was striding through the tall grass in an experimental Mars spacesuit, looking about as out of place as if she’d been hiking around in flippers and scuba gear.
