AUTO Q AND A: Noise in rear of '99 Cadillac could be costly

Published 06/18/2009, Star Tribune (Minneapolis)

Q: I have a '99 Cadillac DeVille with 79,000 miles on it. Lately we've started to hear loud noises from the rear suspension system. The dealer tells me it's an individual wheel system and there's nothing that can be done but to replace the inner workings for $1,000 for each wheel. This sounds crazy to me. Is there a simpler, less costly repair?
