Department of Health IDs disease-carrying mosquito in Minnesota

The Japanese rock pool mosquito, which could potentially transmit West Nile virus and LaCrosse encephalitis to humans, has been detected in Scott, Dakota, Goodhue, Wabasha and Houston counties in southeast Minnesota.
