One-room schools near Stump Lake receive restoration

When Les Ferry was growing on a farm south of Lakota, N.D., his parents provided room and board for his teachers at the one-room Wamduska School No. 2 near the northeast shore of Stump Lake. So, it’s only natural, the retired farmer says, that he should restore not only that school but all three one-room schools that served Wamduska Township from the late 1880s to the late 1950s, along with a log cabin built in 1881.Word count: 1171
