Minnkota plans new power line

Minnkota Power Cooperative plans to start building a 345-kilovolt transmission line from Center, N.D., to Grand Forks in late 2010. The $280 million construction project — called the CGF Project, for Center to Grand Forks — is expected to boost the region’s wind energy transmission capacity and meet Minnkota’s projected growth, said Michael Hennes, Minnkota’s CGF project manager.
