Jamestown begins 125,000-sandbag effort
The city engineer, Reed Schwartzkoff, said Jamestown, N.D., is preparing for the threat of flooding when more water is released from the Jamestown and Pipestem reservoirs upstream. "The amount of flows that are going to have to be released to try and make room for incoming flow up there is going to be high enough that the Jamestown river and the Pipestem Creek, as they come through town, will have some localized flooding during those releases," he said.Word count: 259
