Pawlenty visits EGF, talks flooding

Impressed by the calm and security provided by East Grand Forks’ permanent flood protection system, Gov. Tim Pawlenty on Friday urged a basin-wide solution to Red River Valley flooding. “We’ve had enough of this cycle repeating itself,” the governor said after touring parts of the system built after the 1997 flood. “Look at the great example of East Grand Forks.”Word count: 725
