NFL: Super Bowl-bound Steelers have 3 former Gophs

There’s a hint of maroon and gold on some of the Super Bowl-bound Pittsburgh Steelers. Three former Gophers contributed to Pittsburgh’s success this season: strong safety Tyrone Carter, running back Gary Russell and tight end Matt Spaeth. Carter was a star on the 1999 team and has been in the NFL for nine seasons. Russell and Spaeth are each in their second year with the Steelers.
