Marlin girls fall in championship game

ABERDEEN — The Brookings Rangers claimed their fourth straight state girls’ hockey title on Sunday at the Odde Ice Center. Brookings downed the Mitchell Marlins 5-2 in the championship game of the South Dakota state girls’ hockey tournament. “The coaching staff is very proud of the way the team played and how it handled the loss (Sunday),” Marlins coach Keith Johnson said in an e-mail to The Daily Republic.
