Feds turn down plea for help with riverside repairs after flood

PIERRE — High water damaged 40 state parks and recreation areas along the Missouri River in South Dakota during 2011, but none is eligible for federal emergency assistance for their repair. The Corps of Engineers holds a flood easement as part of the transfer of the shore lands to state ownership.
