Residential TIF district wins OK from city planning group

A residential development that may be built utilizing tax increment financing moved a step ahead Monday.
The Mitchell Planning and Zoning Commission, which met at City Hall, approved a plan for a tax increment financing (TIF) district. It would cover a 16.5-acre development in the northwest part of the city.
ProBuild, formerly known as United Building Center, is developing the area. Dean Sadler, who manages the local business, testified before the commission Monday and filled in details of the project.
