Spring runoff leads corps to hold water in Missouri River reservoirs

MOBRIDGE — Water is higher this spring than previously expected in Oahe and some of the other big reservoirs on the Missouri River, but the remaining snowpack in the mountains upstream is below normal.
How the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to adapt its management of the river’s flow to the unusual conditions will be part of the discussion tonight, as corps officials make a stop here on their annual spring tour to explain adjustments in the river’s annual operating plan.
