Murder case still in early stages

Published 01/15/2010, The Daily Republic

A decision on whether prosecutors will seek the death penalty against a Fort Wayne, Ind., man accused of killing a Mitchell girl has yet to be made, a state attorney general spokeswoman said Thursday.
Sara Rabern said Assistant Attorney General Doug Barnett and Jim Davies, Hanson County state’s attorney, have not established a time-line as to when they will make that decision.
Meanwhile, the body of the victim still has not been released to the family, with Rabern saying the case is highly unusual.
