Christmas storm leaves South Dakota in its wake

By all accounts, the Christmas blizzard that closed major interstate highways and upset holiday plans throughout the Midwest was a storm for the record books, National Weather Service meteorologist Greg Harmon said Sunday.
“It has been 40 years since the state experienced a storm of this magnitude,” said Harmon, noting that the last comparable blizzard occurred in 1968.
