County to seek agreement with city on fire protection for township

Threatened with the Jan. 1 suspension of fire service in the former Mitchell Township, the Davison County Commission decided Tuesday to investigate a separate fire service agreement between the county and the city of Mitchell.
The latest episode follows a months-long squabble between the Mitchell Rural Fire Association and the county over payment for a new truck to fight grass fires.
