Coast Guard begins icebreaking on Great Lakes

The U.S. Coast Guard began its Great Lakes icebreaking operations today. The icebreaker Katmai Bay (above) is headed toward Duluth from Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. The Duluth-based Alder is working on buoys.Word count: 131
