Deer harvest lags behind last year

As reported last week in the News Tribune, deer hunters in Northeastern Minnesota shot about 24 percent fewer deer in the first three days of the firearms season than they did last year, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. The estimate is based on registration figures at Electronic Licensing System outlets across the region.
