Reader’s view: Westlund opposes oil projects that will create good jobs

I applaud U.S. Rep. Sean Duffy’s attempts to revitalize the Twin Ports as a transportation hub, particularly with the expansion of pipelines and refining capacity from Canadian and North Dakota oil. In contrast, Duffy’s opponent in the coming election, Kelly Westlund, has been bankrolled by organizations that oppose the Keystone XL, Alberta Clipper and Sandpiper pipeline projects. A recent State Department report showed the Keystone XL project would support 42,100 jobs, provide $2.1 billion in earnings for American workers and yet have no significant effect on greenhouse-gas emissions.
