Reader’s view: Common sense needed in alternate side parking

Published 02/13/2014, Duluth News Tribune

Two Sundays in a row I have had to try three different routes to get out of my neighborhood due to people parking directly across from each other on Sunday afternoons and not leaving enough room for cars to get through. I know all the snow makes it more difficult, but people need to pay attention when moving their cars for alternate-side parking to be sure the road is passable. If there were an emergency, first responders would have a difficult time getting through the neighborhoods, and that could be disastrous. Please use simple common sense and courtesy.
