Reader’s view: PolyMet isn’t worth destroying our water

When I think of the PolyMet copper mine being promoted in Northeastern Minnesota, I think, “Oh yes, jobs, copper resource, a bit of a boom for our state.” Then it occurs to me, “Yikes, the water that we have in our 10,000-plus lakes, our wells that we drill for our homes or cabins, the fish and the wildlife could be polluted by the process. The drainage from the extraction could seep into the water tables.”
