Overheard: Will Minnesotans ‘roll the dice’?

“(During a) 10-year period (that ended in 2012, the state of Minnesota) had an Independence Party governor and then a Republican governor, we had a DFL-controlled Senate (and) a Republican-controlled House, (and) we even had a couple of years (with) a Republican governor and a DFL-controlled Legislature. So it was a real mixed bag. As ugly as it may have been, the way those folks managed the state budget and the tax system, that really is kind of paying dividends today. … The positive results today are the result of decisions made over the last 10 years."
