Ask a Trooper: State law requires drivers to yield to buses

Q: I have a friend who is a Duluth Transit Authority bus driver. While talking to him, he told me by law motor vehicles must yield for buses that have their left turn signal on trying to merge back into the driving lane. Because I’m aware of their tight schedules I always have yielded and let them in, but is it true that this is a state law?
