Enbridge re-growing Northland work force

The buried oil pipelines crisscrossing the Northland were formerly owned by Duluth-based Lakehead Pipeline, which brought the first Canadian oil from Alberta into the U.S. to Superior by pipeline in 1950. That company became Enbridge Energy Partners in 1991 but moved to Houston, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Canadian-based Enbridge.
