“Evita” is really more of an opera than a musical, an “opera” being defined as a musical with no spoken dialogue, demanding songs to be sung, and the soprano dead at the end. Although in the Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber show that opened Thursday night at the Duluth Playhouse, Eva Perón is an embalmed corpse when she first appears on stage.Word count: 434
