Field reports: Boy Scout Landing will close in July as renovation begins

The popular boat launch at Boy Scout Landing on the St. Louis River in New Duluth will be closed for about two months this summer for improvements, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. The $376,000 project will add one more dock, move the fishing pier farther upriver from the current site and improve stormwater runoff, said Joe Russell, DNR Parks and Trails supervisor for the North Shore.Word count: 403
