Youth leaders spruce up Duluth Children’s Museum

Published 06/23/2013, Duluth News Tribune

On May 18 the Northland Foundation’s Youth Leadership Academy presented “Sparking Curiosity” at Duluth Children’s Museum. The 52 youth leaders and 10 adult mentors of the 2012-13 Twin Ports Youth Leadership Academy planted trees and shrubs, painted murals, created a trail and provided an outdoor educational experience for children. The project transformed a drab area around the museum into a bright, colorful and native environment for the community. The members of the Youth Leadership Academy chose this project earlier in the year and spent many weeks gathering donations and supplies and planning for the big day.
