Curling: Northland juniors stumble

Published 01/31/2013, Duluth News Tribune

Wednesday afternoon marked a rough draw for most of the Northland curlers participating in the USA Curling Junior Championships at Wayland, Mass. Miranda Solem of Cohasset dropped her first match, 6-5 to a rink from North Dakota, to fall to 5-1 in the round-robin portion of the women’s schedule. The Duluth rink of Cory Christensen, the defending champions, moved into a three-way tie for first place with a 10-5 win over New York. Both Solem and Christensen played again in the evening session, seeking to cement playoff spots.
