Minnesota DNR to close wolf season in Northeast Zone

Published 12/15/2012, Duluth News Tribune

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is closing the wolf hunting and trapping season in the Northeast Zone — which includes much of the Northland — at 5 p.m. today. The DNR made the announcement Friday as hunters and trappers in that zone registered the 52nd wolf of the late season, which opened Nov. 24; the quota for the Northeast Zone is 56. The zone includes all or part of St. Louis, Lake, Cook, Carlton and Aitkin counties.
