What are you reading? "Nineteen Minutes"

Published 12/02/2012, Duluth News Tribune

Synopsis: This book is about bullying. Peter Houghton has been bullied his whole life by the kids he goes to school with starting with the first day of kindergarten. In high school his best friend, Josie Cormier, leaves him behind to hang out with the popular crowd. One morning Peter wakes up and just snaps. He brings guns to school and leaves a trail of death and injury during a 19-minute rampage before the police can stop him. Josie Cormier’s boyfriend was killed, but Josie, who was with her boyfriend when he was shot, was spared. She says she doesn’t remember what happened, but is she telling the truth? And although Peter did the shooting, is he totally to blame or was he defending himself?
