Reader’s view: Marriage amendment intrudes into our lives

The proposed marriage amendment is an unnecessary expansion of government intrusion into the private lives of the governed. It limits individual freedom and is contrary to the concept of equal justice under the law. It is interesting, to say the least, that many proponents of this amendment are the very ones who decry “big government” meddling in the private affairs of citizens.
