Reader’s view: Nolan, Simonson will work to solve problems

The partisan gridlock of the past two years in both St. Paul and Washington should remind us that it really does matter which political party controls the Congress and the Minnesota Legislature. If we are going to solve our pressing problems, we need elected officials who will work constructively with President Obama and Gov. Mark Dayton to create jobs, rebuild our crumbling infrastructure and maintain our vital public services. And we need elected officials who understand that the cost of addressing these problems must be distributed fairly and not be dumped entirely on the backs of middle-income workers and homeowners.Word count: 144
