In his critique of a column I wrote, George Erickson suggested rebuilding more roads and bridges, spending more on renewables, and building thorium nuclear reactors (Erickson’s Aug. 29 column, “Call for more oil ignores the consequences,” was written in response to Westgard’s July 20 column, “Expansion of oil, natural gas industries offers a wealth of jobs”).Word count: 343
