With regard to hunting wolves, in 2011, there were only 88 verified livestock-loss claims in Minnesota, impacting less than 2 percent of beef producers in wolf range. The random killing of non-problem wolves actually can increase conflicts as packs destabilize and remaining members seek any available food source for survival.Word count: 159
