Reader's view: Killing of trees on Chester Creek is inexcusable

It was sad to read on the front page of the July 17 News Tribune about the excessive tree cutting at Chester Creek (“Up in arms over downed trees”). But it was devastating to go there and witness firsthand the unnecessary destruction of the creek brought about by overzealous chain saws unleashed by the city of Duluth.
