Our view: Purging pills key to Northland’s strategy

“Drug trends are ever-evolving, based on many variables. Heroin is back again as a big player in the evolution of illegal drug use,” Duluth Police Chief Gordon Ramsay said in a statement Wednesday to the News Tribune Opinion page. “The heroin problem is no doubt connected to the increase in prescription-drug abuse. We see heroin- and opiate-based prescription-drug abuse as one of our biggest drug problems today.”
