Reader's view: As temperature rises, take care walking pets

Here’s a warning for pet owners about walking them on hot pavement. When temperatures are in the high 80s and 90s asphalt and cement heat up enough to cause blistering on dogs’ paw pads. Rule of thumb: if you wouldn’t walk barefoot, don’t let your pet.
