Reader's view: Minnesota Power executives extremely well-compensated

On May 8, I attended the annual meeting for Allete, the parent company of Minnesota Power. The meeting occurred in Duluth’s Pioneer Hall. While reading the annual report and listening to comments from the floor, I learned CEO Alan Hodnik’s salary and benefit package rose from $802,000 in 2009 to $1.2 million in 2010 to $2.3 million in 2011.Word count: 232
