Volunteers keep things humming

Published 04/15/2012, Duluth News Tribune

Today kicks off National Volunteer Week, a whole week when volunteers across the country are recognized for the work they do that benefits so many. The News Tribune has teamed up with the United Way of Greater Duluth Volunteer Center again this year to recognize area volunteers, but this year we’re highlighting specialized or unique volunteers and the impact of their work on the community, the economy, tourism, growth and the future. To find out more about volunteer opportunities in the Twin Ports, go to www.volunteerduluth.org or call George Ashenmacher at (218) 726-4780.
