Minnesota delegation in D.C. leads the fight

Last week, Minnesota’s U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar and others urged passage of a bipartisan package of bills to ban dangerous synthetic drugs. The bills would outlaw the harmful drug 2C-E, a synthetic hallucinogen blamed in the death of a Minnesota teenager and the hospitalization of several others. The bills, known as the “Combating Designer Drugs Act of 2011,” are among at least three congressional efforts to do away with the harmful chemicals commonly found in bath salts and synthetic marijuana.
