‘Freeze-dried’ fuels spur fire danger alert from Minnesota DNR

The continuing dearth of snow in the state prompted an unusual fire danger alert from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources on Tuesday. Using a general rule that a burning permit is required any time there is less than 3 inches of snow on the ground, the DNR urged people to be careful.Word count: 228
