Review: Patti Austin brings Ella Fitzgerald’s music to life

Ella Fitzgerald died in 1996, but the vibrant world of “The First Lady of Song” was most certainly alive and present Saturday night inside Symphony Hall at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. In a program called “For Ella,” 12 of her most memorable hits were passionately revived by vocalist Patti Austin, herself a legend in the world of vocal jazz.
