Our power is provided by Minnesota Power. Unfortunately for us, Minnesota Power is planning to use our backyard for part of a 230-kilovolt power line to convey power to Essar Steel in Nashwauk. We already have two 115-kilovolt power lines in our backyard, and Minnesota Power’s plan is to replace one with a 230-kilovolt line. Minnesota Power already owns about 118 feet of the west end of our 2½ acres. The company now wants another 50 feet.Word count: 288
