Snowshoe marathoners know you gotta be tough

It took patience, persistence and power to navigate the 26-plus miles of topographical terrors in the Northwoods Snowshoe Marathon on Saturday. The snow was unpacked, the consistency of sugar, and was more than a foot deep in places near the Lester River, Moose Mountain and Hawk Ridge.Word count: 578
