City to trains: keep it down

Rosemount became a quieter city last week with the implementation of a new railroad quiet zone. The quiet zone, which restricts passing trains from blowing their horn unless there is an emergency, went into effect Jan. 6. That first quiet day was the result of four years of work, nearly to the day. The city authorized the quiet zone project Jan. 15, 2008.Word count: 536
