Rosemount didn’t make a good first impression on Helen Judkins. Judkins and her husband moved to Rosemount in August of 1954, when his job as a tinsmith brought him to Genz Ryan. They moved into a small home on what was then known as Maple Street, a dirt road just west of where Fluegel’s Elevator stands. There was no grass in the yard. It had been raining. The house was surrounded by mud. The refinery east of town was belching out fumes.Word count: 481
