ACMC surgeon earns certification in orthopaedics sports medicine

Daniel Lister, M.D., ACMC board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, recently earned his subspecialty certification in orthopaedics sports medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. “This distinction certification represents the highest level of achievement in sports medicine within the realm of orthopaedic surgery,” said Dr. David Newcomer, ACMC medical director. To earn subspecialty certification, each physician must have actively practiced orthopaedic sports medicine for at least two years in the same location following the completion of any formal education. They are required to document and perform over 115 surgical cases related to sports medicine and pass a comprehensive written examination. Lister has been with Affiliated Community Medical Centers since May 2010.
