The IRS wants to send you money ...

The following people from towns in the Tribune coverage area are owed money from the U.S. government, either in the form of a stimulus check or a federal income tax refund. (The attached document lists everyone in Minnesota who still has a check coming.) Checks totaling $2.5 million were returned to the IRS by the U.S. Postal Service due to mailing address errors. The people who are owed a stimulus check have only until Nov. 28 to update their addresses because the law authorizing the stimulus requires that they are sent by Dec. 31. People owed a refund do not face a deadline to update their addresses. (Note the two links to the IRS Web site where addresses can be updated.)
