Elected official wage set at Jan. 20 county board meeting

After setting new salaries for elected officials during the Jan. 4 Wadena County Board meeting, with the condition that the salary increase would not trigger the “me too” clause of the union contract language, the county’s labor attorney and human resource consultant discussed the issue with the Union Representative. HR Consultant Mike Gibson reported to the board that if the salaries were increased as presented at the previous board meeting, it could trigger the “me too” clause and could lead to problems for the county. Gibson presented recommendations to the board, and the board unanimously approved elected officials’ wages to be set as follows:
