Giving blood does make a difference

“I read one time in an American Red Cross newsletter that some of the blood that the Gray Ladies collected went to a mother and her twin daughters who were born premature,” noted Ruth Steidl, an Alexandria resident and member of the Alexandria Area Gray Ladies. “Without the blood they wouldn’t have grown to be the beautiful, healthy girls they are today.” It is powerful stories such as this that caused many individuals to join Gray Ladies groups through the years.
