Wild Side: Always something coming at you on the Chippewa

The Chippewa River starts way up in the north woods of Ashland County. It becomes a big river, joined by the Flambeau, Thornapple, Jump, Yellow and Eau Claire rivers. Below Eau Claire, the Chippewa becomes a wide floodplain river with an island-braided channel plan form.
